Prof. Duah Dwomoh
Prof. Duah Dwomoh (CEO and Founder of D&D) is an Applied Statistician with a special focus and application in Implementation Science, Economic Evaluation, Epidemiology and Disease Control, Predictive Modelling, Public Health, Monitoring and Evaluation of Health, Social and Agriculture-related Intervention and modelling Infectious Diseases. He has more than 15 years of practical experience in teaching and conducting health, Agric-related and social science research. He has more than 65 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Prof. Dwomoh obtained a Ph.D. in Public Health with a specialization in Biostatistics from the University of Ghana, a Master of Philosophy in Mathematics with a specialization in Statistics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics (First Class Honours) from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is currently an Professor at the University of Ghana, School of Public Health, Department of Biostatistics, and the CEO of D&D Statistical Consulting Services Limited. He has expertise in both quantitative research methods and qualitative techniques. He has expertise in using different statistical methods for impact evaluation of health, Agriculture, and social interventions/programs/policies including but not limited to differences in differences analytic methods, matching procedures, regression discontinuity, instrumental variables, randomized designs, endogenous regime-switching regression models, interrupted time series, endogenous treatment regression models, double robust methods, treatment effect estimate using Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator, and synthetic control methods, process/formative evaluations and needs assessment. I develop the framework for project monitoring and evaluation, for example, formative/process evaluation, situational analysis, needs assessment, mid-term project review, impact assessment of interventions, final evaluation, and develop project performance monitoring plan with relevant data collection systems including a review of the quality of existing data in the project areas, the data collection techniques, and the quantifying the extent to which it will provide good baseline statistics for impact evaluation of the outcome measures. He is a proficient programmer in Stata, SPSS Epi-Info, Epicollect, R, and ATLAS.ti, Dedoose and Nvivo, Open Data Kit, CSPro, KoboCollect, Survey Monkey, REDCap, Google Forms, and Microsoft Forms. He has tremendous data management skills including exporting and merging large complex survey datasets from multiple sources, and the ability to implement quality assurance protocols. His area of specialization as an Applied Statistician includes the design, implementation, and analysis of complex survey data that adjust for survey design characteristics (weighting, clustering, and stratification), design and implementation of randomized control trials, quasi-experimental and observational (cross-sectional) studies, data science, risk prediction modeling, time series analysis, Generalized Linear Models, and analysis of survival or time-to-event outcomes. In the context of merging, cleaning, coding, and analyzing complex survey data, Stata MP (StataCorp, College Station, Texas, USA) is my preferred statistical software. In-depth knowledge in machine learning applications such as logistic regression with Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator, Ridge regression, Random forest, Elastic Net, k-nearest Neighbors, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Gradient Boosting Machine, Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), Bayesian Generalized Linear Model, and Light Gradient Boosting algorithms, Linear Support Vector Machines (without kernel extensions), Naïve Bayes, and multi-layer feedforward artificial neural networks, Support Vector Machines using Polynomial Basis Kernel. He has expertise in the mathematical modeling of infectious diseases using stochastic and deterministic models based on systems of differential equations. Prof. Dwomoh also supervised post-graduate thesis on the design and use of complex surveys, Impact and Process Evaluation of Health Interventions, Public Health, Health Informatics, and Biostatistics.
Dr. Susan Ama Asamoah
Dr. Susan Ama Asamoah holds a Ph.D. in Public Health with a specialty in qualitative research and analysis, women, gender, sexual and reproductive health and she is a consultant for D&D on women and gender related research including qualitative studies. She obtained her master’s in public health at the University of Ghana and has expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods in area of maternal, urban, and community health intervention studies, immunization strategies and monitoring and evaluation of health and social intervention. She will lead all the qualitative research design, development of interview guide for key informant interviews, and focus group discussions for D&D on this project.
Miss Adjeiwaa Affram
Miss Adjeiwaa Affram obtained her Master of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology at the University of Ghana and has expertise in qualitative study designs, synthesis, and analysis of qualitative data using NViVo, IQVIA and data mining techniques. She is currently the assistant technical lead for qualitative studies at D&D and has extensive publication in qualitative studies published in peer-reviewed journals.
Prof. Justices Moses Aheto
Prof. Justices Moses Aheto holds Ph.D. in Medicine with specialization in Statistics & Epidemiology from the University of Lancaster - the United Kingdom, an MSc in Statistics with Applications in Medicine from the University of Southampton - the United Kingdom, a BSc in Statistics from the University of Cape Coast - Ghana, and HND Statistics from Accra Technical University - Ghana. He is the lead consultant for D&D Statistical Consulting Services Limited on Geospatial Modelling. His research focuses on the development of Biostatistical/Statistical and Epidemiological methods, including Geospatial and Spatiotemporal modelling and web-based mapping, multilevel and predictive models, and epidemiological modelling of infectious diseases with direct applications in population health sciences (i.e., public health, biological and medical sciences). Justice is an experienced International Statistical/Biostatistical Consultant with over 12 years’ experience in Spatial and Spatio-temporal Analysis, Multilevel Modelling, Multivariate Response (Joint outcome) Modelling, Longitudinal Data Analysis, Time Series Analysis, Regression-based Machine Learning Techniques, Statistical Consultancy and Training Services, Surveys, Census, Complex Survey Data Analysis, and Statistical Software Applications in Data Management and Analysis. He has unending research interests in the development and application of novel Statistical/Biostatistical and Epidemiological methods underpinned by mathematical modelling to solving substantial real-world problems in Population Health Sciences. He published several scholarly peer-reviewed journal articles in high impact journals, including the Lancet (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=3F6hcjcAAAAJ&hl=en). His research outputs are tailored toward influencing health policy decisions and practices by governmental and non-governmental agencies, and health practitioners for improved health outcomes of populations, especially in resource-limited settings in low-to-middle income countries where public health resources are available to respond to the health needs of the people are very limited. Presently, he is a Senior Lecturer with the Biostatistics Department, School of Public Health, University of Ghana. He is also an Honorary Assistant Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom. Dr. Aheto also serves as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, a Visiting Scholar at the College of Public Health, University of South Florida, USA, and a Visiting Professor at the University of the Gambia, Gambia. Previously, he has worked and collaborated with several national (e.g., Office of the President-Ghana, Ghana Statistical Service, ISSER-Ghana, Ghana Health Service, etc) and international (e.g., UNICEF, George Washington University-USA, UNDP, ILO-Geneva, African Development Bank, etc) organizations to execute specific research assignments.
Dr. David Boansi
Dr. David Boansi is a Lecturer in Agricultural Economics, Entrepreneurship, Agribusiness Management and Climate Change Economics at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana and the lead consultant for D&D in Agricultural-related studies. He obtained a BSc in Agriculture (Agricultural Economics Major) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. He received an European Double Master’s degree in Food and Resource Economics (MSc, from the University of Bonn, Germany) and Rural Development and Agribusiness (MSc, from the Corvinus University of Budapest) under the Erasmus Mundus programme in Agricultural, Food and Environmental Policy Analysis. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics (specializing in Climate Change Economics) from the University of Bonn, Germany. David has over 13 years of research experience in environmental and climate change issues, global development and trade, in land use and food security, in agricultural, food and aid policy analysis, in technology adoption and impact assessment, and in the use of quantitative techniques for planning and decision making. He is currently a Guest Associate Editor for Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, and a reviewer for several reputable high impact journals globally. David has the ability to speak more than one language. He has over the past three years been engaged in discussions on agriculture in Ghana on several media platforms. Dr. Boansi has a strong interest in research and good communication skills. He carries out his academic and administrative duties with a great deal of motivation and commitment. He is optimistic, determined, respectful, persevering, open to constructive criticism, and always dedicated to tasks assigned him. He has a strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Prof. Samuel Bosomprah
Prof. Samuel Bosomprah is a Medical Statistician and Epidemiologist who trained at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and lead statistical consultant for D&D. He serves as a primary methodologist on a number of projects being implemented across the southern African region. He also serves as a faculty at the University of Ghana School of Public Health, Department of Biostatistics. Through more than 16 years as a methodologist, he has developed expertise with diverse study designs and has evaluated observational and implementation science studies across several diseases. His research interest includes the design and evaluation of HIV/AIDS and Malaria intervention studies; neonatal and child health intervention studies, methods for health surveys in developing countries; vaccine evaluation; and application of advanced statistical methods to answer complex research questions that involve multi-level/hierarchical data.
Prof. Samuel Iddi
Prof. Samuel Iddi obtained his Master's and Ph.D. in Biostatistics from two prestigious Belgium universities, UHasselt and KU Leuven, respectively. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Statistics, University of Ghana (Legon), and a consultant for D&D in the area of Statistical Methodology. He is a Post-doctoral Scholar – Research Associate at the Alzheimer's Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI) of the University of Southern California, USA. Over the past 4 years, he has taught academic courses at undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. levels and has been a Resource Person for many short training courses in statistics. He has also supervised undergraduate projects, and graduate Ph.D. Ph.D. thesis in biostatistics. His research works in longitudinal and multivariate analysis have led to several scientific publications in refereed international journals, which have also been presented at seminars and international conferences worldwide. He has competencies in the implementation of statistical methods using software packages such as SAS, Stata, and R.
Dr. Winfred Dotse-Gborgbortsi
Dr. Winfred Dotse-Gborgbortsi has his PhD in Geography with specialization in Geographic Information System in the context of Maternal and Child Health at the University of Southampton UK. He has MSc in Social Research Methods with Distinction, University of Southampton UK and MSc Applied GIS and Remote Sensing also with Distinction, the University of Southampton. He has a Bachelor of Public Health- First Class, University of Ghana and Diploma in Health Information Management (Overall best student, College of Health Kintampo, Ghana). He is a consultant for D&D on all maternal and child health-related research and lead the GIS mapping of households and health facilities. Winfred joined WorldPop as a Research Fellow in 2023 following several years’ of contribution to WorldPop projects as a doctoral student, and the successful completion of his PhD at the University of Southampton. He has extensive public health experience, working with the Ghana Health Service and leading tuberculosis, malaria, and schistosomiasis programme interventions at the District level. Winfred is a Commonwealth Scholar and ESRC-funded and was awarded a finalist in the ESRC Celebrating Impact Prize, 2022. Winfred teaches GIS, global health, health service organization and evaluation at the University of Southampton. He is involved in research projects on scabies, routine immunization, maternal health, and water quality, and supports the University’s international office to enhance the experience of international students, particularly from West Africa.
Mr. Ben Aikins
Mr Aikins is the field lead on all GIS and Remote Sensing for D&D. He has tremendous experience in Geo-server / ArcGIS / QGIS / ENVI / Google Earth Engine / Satellite Images Analysis, Python Programming / Microsoft Office / HTML, CSS, JavaScript / PostgreSQL /. He is an expert in Geospatial modeling with R/python, GIS tool development and Enterprise GIS solutions. He has knowledge in GIS applications in the areas of health, Agriculture, environmental modeling, risk modeling, telecommunications and climate change. Mr. Aikins has a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Resource Development from University of Ghana.
Dr. Henry Oppong Tuffour
Dr. Henry Oppong Tuffour has a Ph.D. in Agriculture with a specialty in Agricultural extension and soil science and he currently leads agricultural-related activities for D&D. He holds MSc. in Soil Science, and BSc. (Honours) Degree in Agriculture. He is also a senior lecturer at the Agric faculty (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology) and has conducted a lot of agricultural surveys across the 16 administrative regions of Ghana.
Miss. Gifty Mamphey
Miss. Gifty Mamphey is the project administrator for D&D Statistical Consulting Services Limited in charge of enumerator and supervisors’ recruitment, training and logistics and overall field coordination. She has degree in Human Resource Management and certificate in Project Management from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. Sample experiences in similar project management.
Miss. Belinda Ahiamahe
Miss. Belinda Ahiamahe is a consultant at D&D in the area of banking, finance, and accounting. A finance professional with five years’ worth of experience in financial accounting, taxation and auditing. These experiences coupled with my continuing affiliation with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana makes me confident that I could add value to any Finance and Accounting roles within a progressive organisation. Miss Ahiamahe has Bachelor of Science in Accounting (University of Education, Winneba) and she is an associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana.
Miss Leticia Tornyeva
Miss Leticia Tornyeva is a compassionate Nurse - Midwife with a master’s degree in public health Monitoring and Evaluation at the University of Ghana coupled with experience in both qualitative and quantitative research and lead field monitoring and quality assurance team at D&D Statistical Consulting Services Limited.
Mr. Kofi Agyabeng
Mr. Kofi Agyabeng is a consultant for D&D and has a Master of Statistics and Data Science (Biometric Track) from KU Leuven, Belgium. He is the field research coordinator and data tool configuration for D&D. He is currently a PhD student in Biostatistics at the University of Ghana, School of Public Health.
John-Kennedy Deku
John-Kennedy Deku holds a MSc in Public Health (Monitoring & Eval) and a B.Sc. in Nutrition and Food Science. He has gained experience working on various research projects as a research assistant, field data enumerator, and data entry clerk. This background in both qualitative and quantitative research, along with data management and analysis skills, fuels John-Kennedy's passion for quality and impactful research in both nutrition and public health.
Mr. Tony Godi
Mr. Tony Godi obtained his master's in Health Informatics from the University of Ghana and has expertise in website development, apps for data collection, and programming using CAPI, Open Data Kit (ODK), KoBoToolbox, Microsoft and Google Forms, REDCap.
John Tetteh
John Tetteh has a Higher National Diploma in Statistics, a first degree in Bachelor of Public Health from the University of Health and Allied Sciences and a Master of Public Health from the University of Ghana. He is proficient in the use of Stata, SPSS, and Epidata statistical software and writing of statistical reports. In addition, he has the skills and ability to use QDA Miner Lite for qualitative data analysis. I have served as a project field coordinator for several research projects at D&D and lead qualitative interviews and analysis.
